Chapter 4 · Email that reaches your clients
Send a test email
A test email shows that your email connection works before a client depends on it. Mankai sends one to the address you sign in with and tells you exactly how it went.
This needs the connection from Install FluentSMTP and connect your email.
Step by step
Get there
In the WordPress menu, press Mankai CRM.
Press the gear at the top right.
Press Communications, then Email delivery.
Set it up
Under Who sends your email, check that it says FluentSMTP sends your email.
Press Send test email. Mankai sends a message to your own address.
Read the green message under the button. It names the address it sent to and the account it used.
A red message means the email did not go. It says why. Go back to Install FluentSMTP and connect your email and check the connection.
Press See everything that has been sent, below the card.
Find your test email at the top of the Delivery log. Sent means it left your website.
You're done when
The green message says the email went through FluentSMTP, and Test email from Northlight Photography is waiting in your inbox. If it is not there, look in your spam folder.
If something's not right
The test email is not in my inbox
Look in your spam and promotions folders first. If it is there, mark it Not spam so later emails land in the inbox. If it is nowhere, press Send test email again and read the message.
The message is red and says it was not sent
The message names the reason. A wrong password or port in FluentSMTP is the usual cause. Open FluentSMTP under Settings in the WordPress menu, edit the connection and save it again.
The message says "the host's own mail"
FluentSMTP is not sending yet. Check that FluentSMTP is active on the Plugins page, and that it has a connection listed under Active Email Connections.
