Webhooks

What it does

A webhook lets Mankai tell another app that something happened. In a custom workflow, the Send Webhook action posts a short JSON message to a web address you give it. A tool like Zapier or Make can receive that message and, for example, add a row to a spreadsheet or text you.

The message carries the record's number, type and title, the client's ID and email, the time and your site's address.

How Mankai works with Webhooks

You build it like any other workflow: choose what starts it, such as a signed contract, add the Send Webhook action, and paste the address your other app gave you.

The message does not say what happened, so build one workflow for each event, each with its own address.

Mankai has no Zapier or Make app of its own. The webhook is a plain message that any service able to receive one can use.

Good to know

• Custom workflows, and so webhooks, need an active Pro licence.
• The address must be a public web address Mankai can reach. Addresses on your own computer or private network, and names that do not resolve, are refused. Use https:// so the message is encrypted.
• Mankai does not sign the message, so keep the address private.
• Mankai waits up to five seconds for an answer and does not follow redirects.

How to set up

1. In Mankai, open Studio, then Workflows, and press New workflow.
2. Add a trigger, for example Contract Signed.
3. Add an action and choose Send Webhook. Paste your address into Webhook URL.
4. Join the two boxes, check that Enabled is ticked, and press Save workflow.
