If Pro runs out, or you uninstall

Your clients, sessions and invoices live in your own WordPress site, not on our servers. This lesson says what stays and what stops if your Pro license ends, or if you ever remove Mankai.

Nothing here is urgent. Read it once, so there are no surprises later.

If your Pro license ends

Mankai carries on as the Free version, and nothing is deleted.

  • Stays: your clients, sessions, invoices, payments, contracts, galleries and settings.
  • Stays: your booking page and your clients' portal, so clients can still book and sign in.
  • Stops: the Pro tools, such as custom workflows, session to-do lists, tips, quotes, coupons, gift cards, expenses, mileage and the phone app. They work again when you renew.

If you delete Mankai

By default your data stays in your site, so a reinstall brings it all back.

  • Turning Mankai off never deletes anything.
  • Deleting Mankai keeps your records, unless Delete all CRM data too is on.
  • With that switch on, deleting Mankai erases your Mankai settings, records and the private folder of gallery photos for good.

Step by step

Get there

  1. Press the gear at the top right of Mankai.

  2. In the list on the left, press System Health.

  3. Press Data management.

Set it up

  1. Find Delete all CRM data too. Leave it off unless you are sure you will never need your records again.

    It only matters when you delete Mankai from WordPress. Take a backup first if you ever turn it on.

  2. To switch Mankai off without losing anything, open Plugins in WordPress and press Deactivate under Mankai CRM.

    A Delete link appears after you deactivate. What it removes depends on the switch you just read.

You're done when

You know that your records stay if Pro ends, that turning Mankai off deletes nothing, and that Delete all CRM data too is off unless you turned it on.

If something's not right

Will my clients notice if my Pro license ends?

Not on the booking page or in their portal, which keep working. They would only miss things that need Pro, such as tips or a gift card purchase.

I deleted Mankai and want my data back

If Delete all CRM data too was off, install Mankai again and your records are back. If it was on, restore your site from a backup, as in What to ask your host for.
