Mankai

Chapter 15 · Keep it running

Studio files

About 4 minutes

Files is where Mankai keeps everything that belongs to your clients, stored privately: gallery photos and videos, print order files and files sent in messages.

It is not the WordPress Media Library, which holds the public pictures on your website, like your logo.

Step by step

Get there

  1. In the top bar, move your mouse over Studio.

  2. Press Files, in the middle column.

See where the space goes

  1. Look at the tiles across the top. Storage is everything together, and the other tiles split it into photos, videos, documents and the rest.

  2. Press Plan size, type how many GB your hosting plan includes, then press Save.

This is optional. The Storage tile then shows how much of your plan is left. Nothing is limited by it.

  3. Read Recent files. Each line is one upload, and In names the gallery or order it belongs to.

Look inside a gallery

  1. Under Folders, press Galleries.

  2. Press Green Family Session, or any gallery of yours.

  3. Read the sizes under the title. Originals are the photos you uploaded, and smaller copies are the previews Mankai makes from them.

Press Close at the top left to go back to Files.

Find one file

  1. Press All files at the top right.

  2. Press the magnifier, type Green, and press Enter.

The Kind, In and Client headings narrow the list too.

Clear out what you no longer need

  1. Back on Files, press Review on the Time to clean out? card.

  2. Read what is listed. Mankai deletes nothing until you tick it and confirm, and it never deletes a gallery from here.

Held photos are proofs you took out of a gallery after your client chose. Press Open gallery to put them back or delete them there.

You're done when

You can see how much room your clients' files take, find any gallery or photo, and you know that Files is separate from the WordPress Media Library.

If something's not right

Why are my gallery photos not in the WordPress Media Library?

Gallery photos are kept privately so only the right client can open them. The Media Library is for pictures on your public website. Find your client photos in Files, or in the gallery itself, as in Make a client gallery.

The numbers look old

Mankai counts your files in the background. The top right says when it last counted. Press the round arrow beside it to count again.

How do I delete a photo?

Open the gallery from Galleries and delete it there. Files is for looking and for clearing leftovers, so it never deletes a gallery for you.
